CEO President, Founder and Director

Mr. Scherwitz is the managing director and visionary of Genoptic SolarTech, who has founded and successfully led several innovative technology companies. He has over 20 years of experience developing high-quality and efficient LED lighting solutions throughout North America.

Sam was the driving force behind building and leading one of the strongest, most dedicated nano-optical electronics teams in North America. He possesses extensive industry knowledge and expertise in product development, global sourcing, manufacturing, and sales, and is Genoptic's primary financial advisor.

Managing Director for Global Business

Mr. Valenc leads Genoptic SolarTech's product transition from research to market and is responsible for developing and managing corporate partnerships, R&D collaborations, joint ventures, and licensing opportunities worldwide. He has decades of experience leading companies that introduce groundbreaking technologies to a wide range of industries. He is an expert in building and leading highly complex teams and in developing and managing creative go-to-market strategies for novel product lines in competitive industries. He studied both biomedical engineering and business at the University of Southern California.

Managing Director

Mr. Iyer leads Genoptic SolarTech's market entry strategy and the development of joint venture partnerships worldwide. He is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, working on projects with a total capacity exceeding 12 GW across five continents. He possesses a comprehensive understanding of technological development and has a proven track record of success in implementing these technologies.

Steve has successfully led groundbreaking projects for large blue-chip companies like Canadian Solar, as well as for start-up companies. He is an expert in strategic planning, business development, risk management, procurement, and operations.

PhD Senior Engineer for Power Electronics

Dr. Kaviri is responsible for the design and development of Genoptic SolarTech's power electronic converters for their solar power plants and energy storage systems. He has decades of experience in the design and development of power electronic converters for renewable energy systems.

Sajjad's research interests lie in the fields of power electronics, renewable energy sources, distributed energy generation and storage systems, and microgrid control systems. He is a co-author of over 15 publications and holds several patents. Dr. Kavirire received his doctorate in electrical engineering and power electronics from Queen's University.

Director, Business Development

Mr. Reed leads Genoptic SolarTech's business development strategy for North America. He has over 20 years of international leadership experience, focusing on the introduction of new technologies, supporting growing companies, and leading diverse teams.

Joe is an innovative strategist and energy pioneer with an entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to exceptional leadership. He has extensive experience in developing solar energy and energy storage projects and led strategic corporate development at Canadian Solar. He is a graduate of West Point Military Academy.

CPA, CGA, MBA: CFO

Sanjib Karmaker is the Chief Financial Officer of Genoptic SolarTech and an Alberta-certified and award-winning Certified Public Accountant. A leader in his field, he has over 25 years of international experience in finance, accounting, administration, and human resources. As the company's financial manager, Karmaker has a proven track record of leading financial operations and management. His expertise includes financial analysis, reporting, modeling, accounting, management, budgeting, and strategic planning. He has held various senior leadership positions at leading companies, including one of Canada's largest breweries and distilleries in the US and Barbados, his own television and film production company, and a real estate development firm.

Mr. Sur is a partner at Gowling WLG and works in the areas of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, commercial law and energy law.

Frank's clients often praise his exceptional problem-solving skills, his ability to find pragmatic and creative solutions to legal issues, and the unbroken energy and enthusiasm with which he approaches his legal work.

Director of Intellectual Property

Dr. Polonenko is Principal and Patent Representative of GowlingWLG and is considered one of the most experienced Canadian experts in intellectual property.

His work includes drafting and pursuing patents in the fields of life sciences, biotechnology, health, medical devices, agriculture and forestry, oil and gas, energy, clean technologies, environmental technologies, process engineering and mechanical inventions.

Chief Mechanical Engineer

Mr. Hendersons is a senior mechanical engineer at Genoptic SolarTech and has over seven years of experience in electronic enclosures, high-performance electronics, and lighting design. With his background in automotive electronics and OEM lighting, he has played a crucial role in developing and manufacturing innovative solutions. As a seasoned engineer, Michael has a proven track record of successfully transitioning designs from prototype to mass production. His expertise also extends to high-performance electronics for inverter drives and various other areas, contributing to Genoptic SolarTech's delivery of high-quality, efficient solutions.

Lloyd Bell leads our software department and contributes to a holistic development approach. With a strong background in computer science and over two decades of industry experience, his skills range from hands-on development to comprehensive project management.
